BEP 600-GDL Gas Detector

Using microprocessor control to ensure correct sensor sensitivity, the BEP 600-GDL Gas Detector can control two sensors which detect both LPG and Petrol, with visual and audible alarms.  There is a test switch to check the operation of sensors with indicators for fault detection.

The BEP 600-GDL Gas Detector has similar features to the 600-GD but it also has the additional ability to switch a valve on and off. The 600-GDL has a "pulse and hold" feature which allows the solenoid valve to be opened, using full power, and then reducing power to hold the valve in the open position. This reduces power consumption and heat generated whilst the valve is in the on position.

Features:

Self-testing capability
Microprocessor control
Provision for external alarm
Automatic shut-off solenoid control with pulse and hold circuit for low power draw (600-GDL only)
Provision for bilge blower
Dual sensor capability
For remote alarm operation use part no. 54-27C4

Specifications:

Power supply: 10-32V
Alarm sensitivity: 20% LEL (lower explosive limit)
Current draw with 2 sensors: 350mA (max)

Optional BEP Gas Solenoid Valve

Nominal solenoid voltage: 12V
Gas outlet: 3/8" BSP
Gas inlet: POL Thread
Current draw: pulse 700mA, hold at 250mA
Regulator flow Rate: 3kPA

The 600-GDL is designed for 12V or 24V DC systems. The solenoid must be 12V regardless of the input voltage. The control unit will reduce the 24V input voltage down to 12V for the solenoid. If you are using an existing solenoid valve, the current draw must be checked to make sure it is 800mA or less at 12.5 volts. For LPG and Petrol fumes which are heavier than air, mount the sensor in a low dry position where the gas is likely to sit. Sensor must be mounted clear of bilge water.

For CNG gas, which is lighter than air, mount the sensor just below ceiling height but not above cooking or heating areas.
