Solar Panel - Unisolar Laminate 68W (12v)
Product Description
UNI-SOLAR PVL68 features:
Lightweight
Adhesive backing
Output cables (560mm long) with quick-connect MC4 terminals
Easy to install
Great performance in high temperature or low light conditions
Bypass diodes for shading tolerance
There are multiple advantages of using a UNI-SOLAR panel in a motorhome application:
The Unisolar flexible solar laminates have many advantages. Installation does not require roof penetration or fixing brackets. The adhesive backing makes installation quick and easy. There is no glass or aluminium frame like crystalline modules which makes the panel light weight and extremely low profile. The very limited drag offers fuel savings and low wind noise. Compared to glass panels, Unisolar panels are more tolerant to shade and non-optimum installation angles/orientation (ie. flat on roof) and they can be walked on.
How much energy do Unisolar panels make compared to crystalline modules?
UNI-SOLAR laminates produce more daily energy than traditional crystalline modules. Although Unisolar say can be up to 25% more energy, we have seen examples of around 20% in NZ conditions. The extra energy gain is because laminates perform better in low light conditions and in hot environments. In high temperatures, a UNI-SOLAR panel's performance may only be reduced by 5% compared to around 30% in traditional crystalline panels. Laminates also allow better use of diffused light.
