The Waeco CF Fridge Range

Waeco CF fridges

Waeco’s Cool-Freeze portable fridges work and perform in a similar way to your home fridge except they can run off both a 12V/24V battery or from 240V mains.

Thanks to a built-in compressor, they offer excellent cooling and freezing. Compressor fridges pull the internal temperature down quickly. Most CF models are capable of cooling to around 50°C below ambient temperature. This means your food and drink stay perfect condition in almost any environment.

Internal temperature fluctuations are minimal. The easy-to-use temperature control makes adjusting the fridge easy. You can set the required temperature or view the actual temperature via the digital display.

Compressor

The most important part of your fridge is the compressor. It is the ‘engine’ and should not be overlooked. The successful German made Danfoss compressor is powerful, quiet and almost free from vibration. The quality can be confirmed by its 5 year warranty.

Power Consumption

The Waeco CF range is one of the most efficient series fridges money can buy

An independent test of 12 different portable fridges was done at the Australian Defence Industries. The aim was to replicate the back of a closed car on a typical Australian summer day.

The fridges were set to run at a few degrees above freezing. The ambient temperature was adjusted throughout the day. It started with four hours at 15°C, took six hours to climb to a peak of 55°C where it stayed for four hours, before descending over another six hours back to 15°C, where it remained for the final four hours. One of the fridges tested was the CF-40

According to the Author:

Current draw:
22.5 amps consumed over 24 hour test. No other product tested came even close. Average of other competing product in this class was 30.9 amps.

Temperature performance:
Never varied more than 1°C, even during the gruelling 4 hours at 55°C ambient.
They are a truly high performance, low power consumption unit.

Fridge Construction

Many people get caught up in the construction of different fridges. Aluminium or Polypropylene? The Cool-Freeze models have a polypropylene case. Some of the advantages of polypropylene when choosing a portable fridge are:

*   It’s light
*   Tough & Durable
*   Won’t rust
*   Doesn’t conduct heat. When the sun is shining on your fridge, it isn’t going to get hot and become less efficient.

Perfect down to the last detail

Some other features seen in most of the models:

*   Moisture proof touch buttons
*   Automatic turbo boost when required
*   Removable basket with divider
*   3 stage Battery protection with emergency override
*   Extremely strong carry handle act as tie down points
*   Built-in light
*   Detachable, reversible lid

Reviews from happy fridge owners

CF-35

We are just home after travelling 1200k in remote parts of the West Coast and inland Canterbury. The fridge stayed at -1 degree in our vehicle even though the vehicle wasn't started for 2 days and we had no trouble starting the truck when it was time to come home. Thank you once again. We will recommend your product to other 4 wheel drivers.

CF-40

Although made of plastic it is very sturdy and probably lighter than the other brands but still very strong!!! Cigarette plug could be stronger and some sort of locking mechanism for the plugs would be great, however, it has never come lose! Excellent Fridge!!! Love it. We bought it for a long trip and now leave it in the Wagon permanently. We have small kids and we couldn't live without it now!!! Great price and great buy.

As regular campers, the CF40 is just the thing for keeping your meat, milk and don't forget beers perfectly cool. Just set the temperature and it does the rest runs so quietly you don't even know it’s on especially good when you’re in a tent. I love my Waeco!

CF-60

Love the capacity, separate fridge/freezer areas. The wire cage/divider makes it easy to separate into distinct areas and remove for cleaning. Best investment ever made. We go camping heaps and the 60L capacity takes heaps of food/beer.

Nothing gets a drink cooler than a Waeco. So light and yet so tough, my CF60 holds heaps of everything and just amazes me with its efficiency. Plus at home I can plug it straight into 240 mains for extra domestic refrigeration. In fact, on maximum cold, it will freeze things quicker than the household freezer. How good is that!

SPECIAL OFFER

A trial was mentioned above where 12 fridges were tested against each other. The CF40 was actually the cheapest fridge in its class and along with temperature/energy performance, extra features such as battery protection, internal light, sturdy handles, high power 'Turbo' button, and 240V built in earned it the "Best Compact Fridge".
The CF-40 consumed a measly 22.5A over the full 24 hours. Even at 55°C the energy consumption was a class leading 2.2A per hour. This means more run time out of your battery.

The author said "We were particularly impressed, it ran like clockwork, keeping its maximum internal temperature within about a degree throughout the entire 24-hour period. It also had the lowest energy consumption figures of the entire field, suggesting that even though it is sharply priced, it is still constructed with very effective insulation."

To celebrate the CF40’s success we have a special Offer.
